Sugar
Sugar scrubs are great for sensitive skin and normal to dry skin. This is because grains are usually smaller and smoother. Sugar itself is also a natural humectant – that means it works to contain moisture and hydrate skin. Sugar is also a source of alpha hydroxy acid and glycolic acid, both of which work as chemical exfoliants and encourage faster cell turnover.
Directions: With dry fingers, scoop a small amount out of the jar into your hand. Rub between hands to soften the product, then apply to wet skin and begin rubbing gently in a circular motion. With the addition of a little water you will notice a light, creamy lotion-like' consistency. Continue massaging with this lotion as you would with a soap and then begin rinsing off.
Try to avoid introducing water to the jar. This could shorten the life of the product.
Tips: Try shaving your legs after you scrub. You will never want to go back to soap or shaving cream again!
Scrubbing at least once a week helps your moisturizer get absorbed better, prevents ingrown hairs from forming, and makes hair removal easier. Scrubbing your entire body is also an incredibly relaxing experience after a stressful day. Dab on some Fruit Extracts body oil afterwards and you’ll feel like you’re in a spa in your very own bathroom.
